Government land on Bonaire can be given in long-term lease by the government to residents or legal entities for various purposes.
The land that is given by the government in long-term lease remains the property of the government, it is only granted on loan for a certain period. The issue in long-term lease (or granting) must be done through the notary. An annual ground rent must be paid per square meter for the lease. In addition, ground tax or property tax also must be paid annually, this is the same as with owned land.
If you would like more information about the long lease or if you have received a decision to issue long lease from the Council of Bonaire, please contact us.
